BASF, a leading global chemical producer, is entering Georgia. The opening ceremony of the company's regional office in Georgia was attended by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
The Head of Government thanked BASF management, especially Senior Vice-president Laurent Tainturier, for establishing the company's regional office in Georgia, which, according to the Prime Minister, highlights the progress country has made due to effective government reforms.

"We are pleased that BASF has taken the advantage of Georgia's strategic location and one of the most attractive business climates in the whole Eurasian region and has established its representation in Georgia, a genuine hub for business, logistics and transportation. [This fact highlights] our achievements of being an open and liberal economy state attracting an increasing number of investors and offering vast business development opportunities.
BASF is a historic and distinguished company, with an extraordinary portfolio of manufacturing and processing in many key segments, such as Chemicals, Functional Materials & Solutions, Agricultural Solutions and Oil & Gas," Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated.

The Prime Minister remains hopeful that this new venture in the region brings the company even greater success.
"Georgia needs investors like you, companies which acknowledge our country's strategic role as a gateway between Europe and Asia a bridge between east and west and a part of the modern Silk Road.
Your presence here also provides a quality stamp to Georgia's economic and regulatory environment. Georgian government plans to continue its effective reform agenda and further advance the favorable business climate coupling it with the cutting-edge infrastructure and a streamlined taxation system to make business even easier.

In fact, we have a sound strategy and a plan of action to encourage the innovative solutions and start-up industry in Georgia, and we are accelerating this direction. I believe that with the combination of BASF's unrivalled experience and Georgia's innovative and creative business climate, cooperation potential is truly huge," Giorgi Kvirikashvili said.
The Prime Minister wished success to the company's team members in open and business oriented Georgia where they will feel at home.
BASF, which last year celebrated its 150th anniversary, is the world's leading chemical producing company.
